have more than 130 years experience from production, export and import of
granite. Our clients and contacts are mainly contractors, landscape
gardeners, landscape architects, consulting companies and state/municipality
buyers. We have one of Europe's largest stocks of granite products.

Beer Sten AS is the oldest supplier of granite in Norway and was founded by Nicolai Sivert Beer in Christiania, later Oslo, in 1879. In 1913 we had two thousand employees and we shipped out a total of 127,000 tons of granite. Denmark, followed by England, and later Germany, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina became important markets. Beer Sten AS established itself as one of the world's largest exporters of cubes, sets and curbs.
The traditional granite craft industry, with few exceptions, vanished in Norway in the 1970s. In 1990 Beer Sten became the first company in Scandinavia to import granite from India. The Indian products are almost identical to the products Beer produced and exported over 100 years ago. From being a major producer and exporter to the world market, Beer Sten is today a major importer of the same products with Norway and Sweden as our main markets.
The company remains family-run, currently by fifth generation, Monica Sander. Anders Beer is executive chairman. The firm's offices and warehouse are located in Fredrikstad.
